وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا (1)

By the snorting chargers,

فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا (2)

by the strikers of fire,

فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا (3)

by the dawn-raiders

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا (4)

blazing a trail of dust,

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا (5)

cleaving there with a host!

إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ (6)

Surely Man is ungrateful to his Lord,

وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ (7)

and surely he is a witness against that!

وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ (8)

Surely he is passionate in his love for good things.

۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ (9)

Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown,

وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ (10)

and that which is in the breasts is brought out --

إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ (11)

surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them!
